Independent Writers of Chicago
By virtue of living in or near one of earth’s great convention cities (Chicago), you can turn your talents into work covering conventions.
Join us as IWOC member Jeff Steele, a grizzled veteran of the trade show trenches, explains the nuts and bolts of why to seek convention writing opportunities, how to get work, and how to leverage one convention into an ongoing series of assignments—and how to turn any nearby conference center into a profit center into a personal profit center.
Networking, with snacks and beverages, begins at 5:00 p.m., followed by the program at 6:00 p.m.
The meeting is free for IWOC members. Non-members pay $10 with online preregistration/payment or $15 at the door. And all attendees are welcome to join us afterward for a buy-your-own dinner at nearby Tempo Café!
IWOC monthly meetings are held in Room 4F at the Gratz Center, 126 E. Chestnut Street, adjacent to the historic Fourth Presbyterian Church (see map, below).
Discounted parking after 5:00pm is available (with validation coupon available at the meeting) at 900 N. Michigan Avenue.
