Independent Writers of Chicago
When meeting someone who could become an important client or contact, ask yourself, "How could I make the most of the minute-and-a-half I may have?"
That question will be answered at our April meeting, when IWOC favorites Alyssa Burns and Jill Fahlgren return to the Gratz Center dais to delight their audience for the first time since June 2018.
This time around, marketing and communications consultant Burns and executive coach Fahlgren explain why every writer should have a 90-second pitch, how to hone that pitch and ways to make it work for you when introducing yourself to others. Don't expect to just sit back and listen. By the end of this interactive session, everyone attending should possess a memorable pitch that helps you engage in 90 seconds!
Networking, with snacks and beverages, begins at 5:00 p.m., followed by the program at 6:00 p.m.
The meeting is FREE for IWOC members. Non-members pay $10 with online preregistration/payment or $15 at the door.
All attendees are welcome to join us for a buy-your-own dinner at a nearby restaurant after the meeting.
